Badrinath Dham: Uttarakhand Tourism

Badrinath Dham is position at the altitude of 3100 meters in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and one of the holy shrines of Char Dham Yatra.

Devotees can reach Badrinath Dham by road and visit Badrinath Temple by passing through a small trek of around 3km away from Badrinath. This Badrinath temple is inside the Mana Village which is position at the endpoints of Indian Borders with Neelkanth Peak stands strong around the pilgrims and the elegance of the Alaknanda river passing through the incredible landscape which creates a spiritual connection with Devotees.

Mythical Tales Behind Badrinath

Badrinath temple is the legendary Architecture. According to tales or stories, Lord Vishnu performed a reparation at this place. During that time slot, he was facing severe weather conditions and then, Goddess Lakshmi acquired the shape of a Badri tree to save Lord Vishnu from killing the heat of the Sun. After realizing that, Lord Vishnu named this place as Badrikashram.  

Another Legends states that Lord Shiva with Goddess Paravati once visited this place to do Tapasya but Lord Vishnu came in impersonated as a boy and interrupted their Tapasya, by crying and producing uneasy noise. In reply to the query of Goddess Parvati, boy ( Lord Vishnu) said that he wants to meditate in Badrinath and then Lord Shiva and Paravati Moved to Kedarnath, which in result-pushed lord Vishnu to perform the atonement at this place.

This Temple is the major Hindu Pilgrim and adjusted around the Alaknanda River. It is regarded as the most important temple of Lord Vishnu and it is said that this shrine was established by Adi Shankaracharya.

  1. Tapt Kund: besides, the temple there is a natural spring named Tapt Kund and Devotees must dip in the holy water before visiting the temple.
  2. Neelkanth peak: Usually named “Queen of Garhwal” which is positioned at the height of 6,597 meters, named after Lord Shiva, covered with snow and receives the last rays of the sun.
  3. Vasundhara Falls: Situated just 9km from Mana Village which includes 3km by road and 6km Trekking. The Height of Waterfall is 122 meters in Tranquill surroundings of Himalayas.
