In Last Year, Rajasthan is the most visited place in India as per the records presented by the Rajasthan Tourism. Rajasthan’s historical treasury is full of historical artifacts, forts, ancient architecture, and the Jaisalmer fort is one of those ancient forts or architecture which are more than 500 years old.
Jaisalmer Fort is position on the top of the Trikuta hills of Jaisalmer city. It was built in the 12th century by the Rawal Jaisal who the ruler of Jaisalmer city and Yellow stone was used to built this fort which has a golden color, hence named as Sonar Qila or the Golden Fort of Rajasthan.

Jaisalmer city was founded by Maharaja Jaisal in 1156 AD. This city is located near the Thar Desert. There are lots of options for visitors to explore like forts, places, temples of Hindus & Jain and many other architectures.

Raj Mahal: This Raj Mahal or the Royal Palace was built in 1500AD and have seven Storeys structure.
Jain Temples: These temples were built in the 12th century and Each temple is dedicated to a particular Jain Tirthankara like Parsvanath, Sambhavanath, Chandraprabhu, Rishabhadeva, Shitalnath, Shantinath, and Kunthanath.
Pols or Gates: There are majorly 4 gates or pols to enter the fort. Each of these gates has specific architecture, design or patterns which clarify the use of the gates or pol.

Patwon ki Haveli: This architecture was built in the 19th century as the trading was increasing and Jaisalmer was becoming a trading center. This haveli is hardly 1 km away from the Jaisalmer fort and used as a restroom or residing center for traders or merchants.

Tazia Tower: This tower is just 550m away from the fort, built by the Muslim craftsman who developed this 5 Storey Building in a unique way and each floor has different designs and patterns.

Bada Bagh: This located inside the Thar desert. That’s why the ruler Maharawal Jaisal Singh decided to develop an artificial dam with a garden named Bada Bagh, a positive intent to bring some greenery to the city. Goverdhan Stambh was built at the entrance of Bada Garden and there are several tombs devoted to the royal people as per the terms of Hindu architecture.

Gadsisar Lake: This lake was built Maharawal Gadsi Singh in 1400AD with a midset of water harvesting and supplying water to the crop. There are several temples, shrines surrounding the lake for the benefit of people and birds of different species migrating from different locations.

Best time to visit Jaisalmer: The best time slot for tourists to explore Jaisalmer is from November to March as during this time slot weather is pleasant apart from December to January which is very cold and April to August is too hot to survive, although there is very little rainfall in Jaisalmer this causes humidity.
