Chittorgarh Fort (Udaipur)- Find out the mysterious stories

The Chittorgarh Fort is a legendry creation and a precious heritage symbol in the city of lakes (Udaipur). The fort is an embodiment of the graciousness of the Rajput community. The fort is built on a hill at a height of 180m, in the vicinity of the Gambheri River in Chittorgarh. The first look of the fort is so gigantic that one can rate it the largest fort of India. It is reachable at just 112 km from Udaipur. The dignified Maurya rulers of the 7th century constructed it on an area of approximately 700 acres. The history of this architectural excellence comprises of three bloody battles.
The well-known characters of Mahabharata(a Hindu scripture) Bhim, a Pandava, supervised the construction of this fort. If to be described internally, there are all in all seven gates which one needs to cross to have around inside the premises of the fort. The main gate is called Suraj pol, the Sun Gate. While entering through these magnificent gates, you would feel like an emperor of Chittorgarh Fort.

The charm of this wonderful Chittorgarh Fort doesn’t end here. After proceeding further, one can find some beautiful palaces such as Rana Kumbha Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace, Padmini’s Palace, etc. The palaces are designed in such a way that it demonstrates the lavish lifestyle of kings and their successors.

Vijay Stambh

The tower of victory was constructed as a tribute to Maharana Kumbha for his triumph over Mohamed Khilji. In the evening, the view of the entire Udaipur can not be defined in words.
Kirti Stambh

It was built by a Jain merchant with deep pockets. One can see the naked figures of Digambars. The tower is 22 m high.
